About me
Hello! I am Catalina Sandoval, Chilean EFL Academic Writing Editor and EFL Material Writer. With more than 14 years of experience teaching English, I have discovered that what fascinates me is writing in English, teaching to write, editing academic texts, and recently, creating personalized EFL teaching materials.
I have always loved English, so I studied it professionally pursuing a BA in English Language and Literature from Universidad de Chile (2009) and then an MA in Teaching of English as a Second Language (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2016).
During my master, I worked as an Academic Writing teacher for international and Chilean students, and upon my return, I had the pleasure to teach academic writing to English pre-service teachers and help student-researchers to improve their writing.
Until now, I have also taught General, Business, and ESP English at Chilean institutes and universities, which has helped me to be more and more convinced of the need to create local teaching material that is meaningful to Chilean students. For this reason, in 2023 I took a course called Writing ELT Materials by John Hughes and Katherine Bilsborough, which blew my mind and allowed me to perfect my ELT material writing skills.
If you are a researcher aiming to publish in English, due to my solid background in English Academic Writing and familiarity with the writing characteristics of many Chilean researchers and students, I can identify and solve issues to make your writing clear, concise, formal, and error-free. On the other hand, if you are an English teacher, as an English teacher myself, I can help you to go beyond the classic texbook and create the EFL teaching material your students really need.

¿Cuánto cuesta el servicio de traducción o edición?
El valor es por hora de trabajo y varía según el número de palabras, la complejidad del texto en tanto léxico o cuánto sea necesario editar. El valor se determina previo a iniciar el trabajo. El valor hora y estimación de tiempo se acuerda con el/la cliente previo a comenzar el trabajo.

¿Cuánto tiempo tarda la traducción o edición?
Esto depende del número de palabras y la complejidad del texto en tanto léxico o cuánto sea necesario editar. Sin embargo, requiero de al menos de dos semanas de anticipación. Esto me permite mayor rigurosidad y resolver consultas contigo oportuna y cuidadosamente.
